Particularly when it's a red one, to inform about danger or security. I think the little bit of red highlights the focal point in each of these photos. The two photos are a little bland without the color. I also prefer the B&W for the fourth photo. The shiny metal in the color photo takes away from the beauty of the design of the metal. I could go either way for the second photo. Interesting exercise.
