Cuddly catchup

Before I was sick and before the big snow
my nephew and his family had a long layover
at our airport. So my sister and I picked them
up and went for dinner.
We got to meet their very cuddly newborn son


They are a handsome (Italian on both sides) couple

so what else would they name their sweet little one

but Louis !:)
(after his great grandfather) even tho this is blurry I loved the expression

I love this tender picture w/ his mama sporting his Ohio State hat (gift from my sister.)

Life is like roses ....soft, loving and pretty and w/ a few thorns thrown so we appreciate the good parts

My world has been so snow covered

Parts of it were so beautiful and so unique for us Texans



hiking was glorious

my yard was heavily laden

but after 10 -12 inches in an area that gets a dusting that does not stick once a year

it was too much and branches were breaking everywhere



so we knocked off the beautiful heavy snow to protect our trees(much needed for summer shade)



Add 40 degrrees and sunshine and this snow covered anomoly looks


almost back to normal 2 days later:(

Yesterday we went to a wedding reception of these two


it was so lovely all pink and black and white photos


and this cute 'canopy" I liked it a lot


and saw my old young friend, in from Alaska,who in her stocking feet,
makes me in heels feel very short (note to self, at my age, avoid standing so close in pictures to the very young and very beautiful)


we then went and got this new fun toy
and went to a fun dance and made some fun memories but no pictures


and this Am I made this fun heart shaped breakfast


and I received these this morning as well, which was a rare treat for me:)


all and all a great Valentines!!

Walking In a Winter Wonderland

Even though I had this beautiful (so unusual for Texas)sight out the

Y windows while I walked on the treadmill I had to

go do the real walking in the winter wonderland thing

in my snow boots I got at the end of the season really cheep

at the State Park

I got to be in Snow heaven




and see this incongruous sight



I was not disappointed.

William Mckinley Monument My World

The weather was cold and grey (6 degrees)

when I went to my home town of Canton Ohio this past week

this is President William Mckinley's Monument
I grew up playing here on the steps and rolling down thehills
I have many fond memories here


This used to be the County Historical and I was tickled to see
it was now hi sPresidential library
