last year a friend asked me to display them in a community event and I did it again this year |
these first four pictures were the majority of what we have received over the years I brought them and a talented lady displayed them for the event |
I want to remember the event in pictures because after we closed it down that same day I gifted many of them to loved ones I really would like to reduce my STUFF
I definitely kept the ones from other countries and ones handmade especiallyfor us |
these two are some other rooms |
here starts the individual ones most from different countries that caught my eye |
O come all ye faithful is one of my favorite carols |
the story continues on in this one |
such strong emotion |
I hope you can read all the countries |
these next three were all in the White room |
these nativity members look so human :) |
this one is a real angel |
nuts and bolts |
China |
Madagasgar |
this one is so huge it took two pictures |
guess where this one is from |
this one is for Ruby Tuesday and they all depict the birth of our Savior the reason for Christmas |

Great post.
What an impressive collection. It is interesting to see the range of creativity.
Wow. I think my favorite one is the fourth picture after Hailey. Is it tin? Silver? So pretty and unique. Is that one yours?
Every year I want to go and see the nativities, but we never have. :o( Something always comes up, unfortunately.

what a cool collection you have there! happy new year!
Hello,
This caught my eye because I work at Loyola University Museum of Art in Chicago. I am intern there. Anyway, each winter (or at least for the past two years) we hold an exhibition displaying our collection of Creches (Nativity scenes) which were donated to us. They come from all over the world. I think we have over 200 of them. The show is still on display, I believe, so you should go check it out! Otherwise, it will be around next year, too. I would love to know which countries some of yours come from! You can check out the website to find out more about the Creche show we have right now. www.luc.edu/luma
