Fourth of July Breakfast ** My World and Ruby Tuesday

We do Independence day up right w/ a big church breakfast at the Park

My WOrld
Ruby tuesday
Seeing 15 dozen eggs was intimidating...

the shells were too -- this was only 1/3 of them

We got to cook them for the church breakfast this AM. I found a site that told me to put buttermilk in to avoid large amounts of eggs turning green, it worked fairly well

We had a flag ceremony - prayer- pledge

and a reading from the Gettysburg Address that was moving

some came sleepy

most came w/ some red white and blue

all came to eat

and the kids came for the bike parade

or scooter parade

or trike parade

or stroller

or mower parade

some got help

some went on their own

all were cute or cool

this event always tops them all

Happy Fourth Y'all

I just talked about how cool a tradition it was with my friends yesterday. And then today found out my Grandma started that breakfast tradition 54 yrs ago. Crazy. I had no idea.

Oh, and I totally remember the eggs were always green. That is pretty cool about the buttermilk.

Wonderful to have an event that includes the children as well.
I guess from now on you'll be able to scramble eggs in your sleep!

A great way to spend the holiday. You are a trooper for tackling all those eggs at one time! Thanks for sharing your world.

I was very touched by your airplane story in the sidebar. I can't really know what your experience is like, but that analogy was the best explanation of the emotions as well as the facts that I've read.
