My World
This was a must see on my list. I like the commemorative respect of Cemeteries and I am feel very patriotic and Arlington was both -- I was not disappointed.
From the beauty of the gates
to the haunting stark white rows of millions of people who served their country with honor-- this place spoke to my soul.
the roads were long and reminiscent of the long marches of these soldiers
miles of memorials
some famous
some with family names
this was one of the saddest
the tomb of the unknown soldier is a beautiful spot
it is guarded
the changing of the guards was so precise full of honor
We ended up walking about 5 miles total on these beautiful grounds
saw the pentagon from afar and there
was a memorial to those who were
victims of the crash there
I will take these images with me as reminders of the past and those who gave their lives
steeped in this reminder from another monument that-
but also w/ hope for the future of this great nation in which I live.
