MY Worldand Ruby Tuesday Skyline drive Virginia

Ruby Tuesday
We got to go up the skyline drive in Virginia 2 weeks ago we hoped for Fall color
but ...

the closer we drove the color was not changing

we stopped on the road for apples and sarsaparilla

they were so fresh! The owner said just delivered the day before from local orchards YUMMMy!!

then we saw a little color

and got hopeful for the next days hiking

when we drove up to our hotel we saw this lovely sky I will post more of these on sky watch Friday

we went out to a park and caught these shots

then the next day we started out

and were greeted by this beauty at the trailhead of Marys peak (I think)

before hiking/ love my timer

along the trail

we took their picture and they took ours

two vistas from the trail We know we were early for peak color but it was still beautiful

can you see the tiny road

you know me I love red and i loved these creepers I hope they did not hurt the trees

the timer is only as good as the rock I set it on:)

What a canopy

these stone walls were at each overlook on our way down

Can you tell I love red leaves:)

byeee I hope we see this beauty again- It was nourishing to my soul

beautiful captures of the shenandoah...

you were a wee bit early for the color...it's been hot up until last week and we've had a rainy summer of sort.
had a freeze last night so i am thinking the leaves will start turning in the next week. i am eager to get out and photograph them...

What a wonderful photo essay of your trip!
Lovely rubies!
Some of my favorites were the lone red leaf, the sunrays (glorious) and the canopy.

I have sure enjoyed these photos!

The subtlety and quantity of autumnal rubies are wonderful in these captures. The sky is beautiful and the air pure in the Shenadoah, A view and drive I must make some day...

Hi Marcia,
It's me again. I answered your question on my blog but I thought I'd come back here and let you know I took my photo here in West Virginia yesterday.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! What a wonderful outing you had. Even though you were a little early for the autumn colour I do so envy you your beautiful fall reds - and it was certainly starting just as you were there in the Shenandoah Park.

You must have enjoyed your drive. I would like to be a passenger in your car. In winter, you can always look at your photos and feel the warmth.

Just beautiful there, wasn't it! We don't have nice seasons like that here. A few leaves will turn red in November.
Happy RT! Thanks for your visit and nice comment. It won't be Scotland for us this fall. N.C. looks really good.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and Happy RT!

Hi, sorry about that. I didn't show that it was publishing so I clearly over-clicked.

And now I can't seem to delete. Sorry!

Thanks for sharing your lovely Fall photos with us here. We never see anything like this here in Southern California. Thanks for visiting mine ... I'm playing catch up today and have shared an award with all visitors in my T-13 this week. Hope you'll drop again by when time permits to snag, enjoy, and pass it along to others.
Hugs and blessings,
