Thursday Thirteen 13 foods from L'Ecole French Culinary Institute New York City

I went to NYC last weekend w/ 5 of my siblings --- the next week or so will be filled w/ the 400 some pictures I took there.
Our first night, we ate here, the food was soooo beautifully presented and melt in your mouth delicious. I highly recommend this experience if you visit NYC

We shared or tasted a lot of each others food since we were all family and love French food everything was ..........AMAZING
Appetizers
1.Onion and Parmesean Soup
Onion Ring & Apple Cider Reduction (reduction and French food don't seem to go togther)

2.Fresh Bay Scallops on the Half-Shell
Horseradish Purée & Salmon Roe (this one was a true hero on a half shell)

3.Composed Winter Salad
Boston Lettuce, Poached Pear, Spiced Pecans, Bacon & Roquefort Dressing (I did not compose MYself)

4. Crispy Mushroom Tart
Watercress & Truffled Sherry Demi-Glace ( this dish was sinfully good)

the students prepare, serve,and are graded on all that is done here-- they seem so serious..
ENTRÉES

5.Curry Glazed Scallops
Baby Beets, Beech Mushrooms & Horseradish Crème Fraîche ( Hurry for the Curry)

6.Roasted Duck
Potato Terrine, Bok Choy & Sweet and Sour Black Pepper Sauce (tasted like very very tender beef)

7.Sautéed Fillet of Cod
Japanese Eggplant, Daikon Slaw & Snow Pea Wasabi Sauce

8.Grilled Shrimp and Clams Roasted Fingerling Potatoes

9.Pan Roasted Salmon (I licked my Fingerlings)
Wild Mushrooms, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes & Beurre Blanc (Mine) mmmmmmmmmmmm


Pomegranate Sorbet (no picture)mmmmmmmmm

Desserts
10.Yuzu Cheesecake with Macadamia Nut Crust mmmmmm (We went nutty for thisone)


11.Cranberry Pear Cobbler with Honey Vanilla Ice Cream or Spiced Zucchini Bread Pudding with Ginger Ice Cream ( they were bothworth screaming for )


12.Chocolate Ganache Cake with Mocha Sauce (for the 3 B-days)( we ganached and Ganached)

13.Crème Brûlée Le Cirque Style-- you will just have to trust me it was as beautiful as it was delicious

They are taught so well for all was the best!!!
Lemon Zest Madeleines, these little tidbits were for all at the end, simply so yummy.
French Fortune cookie? very fortunate to get one)

... this insert was in the bill.. just so we know they don't take themselves totally serious.

I love love love French food. Even at it's simplest, the food seems so very fresh. Yummy.... mmmmmm!

Ahh, it's been so long since I've eaten in this sort of restaurant, I'd almost forgotten what the food presentation looks like!

It sounds sinfully good. Wow. I'm envious!

I really liked all the pictures -- there's just no way to describe some things with words alone! Most of them sounded delicious, too, particularly the Salmon. (and, my creme brulee never lasts long enough to take a photo of, either!)

What an incredible looking meal, my mouth is watering! I can't believe I grew up just a few miles from there and yet never ate at the restaurant. Now my parents have moved away and my chance is gone. Sob...

I don't know if everything is french kitchen but it looks ABSOLUTELY delicious ! I am happy it's early morning and I am not hungry yet, otherwise I would jump through the screen, lol !

Good thing I wasn't there.. other than the desserts, I wouldn't have liked a thing. But Richie would've died and gone to heaven. I do feel bad for him sometimes for being married to a comfort food type of woman. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.
