Skywatch Friday Nests Falling

I looked out my kitchen window this AM and saw 3 birds looking like they were having a meeting -- but I could not get all three in the shot since I had my telephoto lens on and they were not very far away

So I snapped a separate one of this one and when I zoomed in I noticed ...it was a baby ..and could not fly... it looked as it it were looking ...

up in this big tree- saying--'mama where are you'?

And momma was up there directing the two down below in the grass-- to help-- please help my baby-- he fell--I'm not ready for him to leave the nest!!--

Then a couple hours later as I was leaving for my Yoga class I saw another cute/ugly/cute baby on the street

It seemed to have fallen from this nest-- I fretted -- should I pick it up? I can't reach the nest..... ugh, what should I do? I left --I turned around went back-- fretted more-- and finally went late to Yoga -- when I got back in two hours it was gone noo blood or cat in sight

and when I looked in the yard this was all I saw -- Do they get lifted by others or learn to fly that quickly? or like humans it is a little of both.

So throughout the rest of the day as I thought about baby birds, nests,falling-- cats -- I had to stop on the road for this and of course I was thinking I hope he doesn't fall

and then because of all this, I got to thinking.... I know my (baby)is old enough to fly am I ready for him to leave the nest?

Maybe this is a fitting post for Independence day?

Mmm. That touched my heart. Life is so very fragile. Your observations are so sensitive. The guy in the cherry picker made me laugh. No doubt you have prepared your son well for flight!

GREAT post, Marcia. Thanks.

What a wonderful way to express yourself. I too have babies ready to leave the nest, they've fallen out of the nest and looking to fly. Actually, I had the same problem with a bird and her baby in my garage. Mom and dad protected that baby until it flew, which didn't take long at all; just about a day. You should rest your mind knowing that baby was probably doing what it was supposed to do.

Oh so sweet. Yes we need to let them fly and learn independence...
Blessings on you as you let go...

Marcia, what a day you had. What a story!
Your "baby" is so nice. Looks more than ready to fly.

Boy that is a little guy. I hope he makes it. Life for nestlings are sometimes way too short. They have a future and not always on the wing.

I think this is the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography choices and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions

And of course that "baby" is most ready to fly!
He looks like a eagle ...

Your son didn't tell you but he yet fly by his own. So handsome man! You know Marcia, there're only moms that ignore their babies can fly! My older daughter will be 16 in 6!!!!days. She's always my little baby, but every body knows that she's no longer a little girl. She'll be soon a beautiful woman.
I love the fable. Your stories are always very interesting and you're talented to tell. Please continue.

Of course Z is ready to fly. He has an awesome focus and has always been well grounded.
Those birdies are the same that came every year when I lived there. They can really squawk. Have a great 4th.

Great catch for SWF! God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement.... Happy weekend! Mine's up too hope you can drop by.... here

I missed your wonderful Sky Watch post on Thursday, but am delighted to find it today. Methinks I'll add your blog to my reader ... just because. I did join Sky Watch for the first time this week at Sacred Ruminations, but I do T-13 weekly at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,
