I have been cleaning out my dresser drawers and closets and realized I have saved these shirts ! Why?? I ask you? Am I going to where these again? Highly unlikely. Am I going to make a t-shirt quilt? That has been the plan for about 10 tears or more but it is only slightly more likely than the re-wearing of them.

Great T-shirt collection!! I think my oldest one was for a River Raft Race back in the late '70s or early 80's. I'll have to dig it out and see if it has a date on it... maybe take a pic and post it on my blog.
Happy T13. My 21st is up.
Even though you have them journaled, getting rid of them still might be hard. Who knows, you may want to wear one again. I did like the JC Penney "Race For the Cure" T-shirt.
Your list reminded me of an episode of "Rules of Engagement". One of the characters had T-shirts dating back to when he was a teenager and he had stories to go with each one. His wife wound up making a quilt of the T-shirts. I think he was upset at first, but began to like the idea.
My oldest T-shirt dates back to 1989. It's a replica of the front page of the Detroit Free Press story about the Detroit Pistons' first NBA championship.
I don't but my husband does, he won't throw anything away.
Hope you'll pop by The Cafe for my TT, a review of Mamma Mia.
Awesome!!! I think I have one left from the mid-80s and now regret giving away so much. Granted I could never fit into my old tees anymore. :(
Fantastic idea for a TT :) Thanks so much for stopping by :)
I think No. 9 is beautifully designed. I love it. All of these are fun. T-shirts really are the best souvenir!
I still have my race for the cure t-shirt...isn't funny we were just talking about that visit yesterday..I was thinking you had me beat...that my oldest t shirt was fom the very first women's powerlifting nationals in 1978...then I went digging. I have an old, tattered and well-worn Lincoln HS t shirt from 1968!!! I absolutely cannot throw any t shirts like these away...too many memories!!!
WOW!!! Thats one heck of a collection =) My mom collects all my old shirts and give them away every year so I dont have any "antique" ones lying around...
That's quite a collection. And when I thought about your question, I realised it must be over 20 years since I last HAD a t-shirt.
I'm a collar and tie type, me.
Marcia, don't get rid of those tees - they show a history of your life! :) And you're lucky if you still fit into them! Ha!
Wow, lots of T-shirts. My closet if full also. I never know what to do with these darn things. I keep thinking I'm going to save them for paint shirts but I never seem to get to the painting. LOL!! Great TT and thanks for stopping by mine.
I seem to have unintentionally created a t-shirt collection myself. The oldest - one from a Daytona Beach vacation. I think it's from the summer of 1973.
I think my oldest is 20 years old. Most of the others are only a few years old. Happy TT.
Yes, I have a collections of t-shirts that I never wear but can't get rid of. They have good memories. Chad has some from when he was a kid that the boys wear now!
I'll quilt them for you if you want. I love quilting. Just ask my momma for my address and ship them too me with a guess at what you want it to look like. But don't get rid of them. I bet Elizabeth would wear that Rick's one. I don't have any really old shirts except one that was Andrew's when he was like 8 that I fit into until I had kids. I do have a pair of shoes that I got as a hand me down from my best friend in 2nd grade. They are pink converse high tops. They still fit me. Yes I have tiny feet.
Oh … your t-shirts bring back memories of my own collection. Making a t-shirt quilt is a wonderful idea!!! My T-13 is at Small Reflections ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Very, very clever! Great post. I don't think I own my best T-shirts anymore. Oh well! :~D
I've got a whole box full of t-shirts that I'm saving to make a quilt. Maybe some day.
Hi! I finally took the time to post a comment! I've been terribly lazy about blogging and reading blogs this summer. It's fun to read yours, though. I love all the pictures you take and all the little thoughts you give. I love all the T-shirts. I save mine, too. I've made one T-shirt quilt and I have more than enough to do another one. It's a great way to keep them and it's like a journal, too.
