It is sad to take down trees we have enjoyed for over 20 years but so necessary in this case

So sad and wish it weren't necessary -- and wouldn't be if people had better and extensive public transportation about to be able to call upon?
The roads will be less polluted given lots more take the public transport.

It's so sad to cut down trees but sometimes it's really necessary to accommodate to the needs of the human populations.
Gosh! your floor still looked damp. I almost had that experience when there was an unexpected flash flood here.

It's a shame they had to do that but storms don't spare trees, sadly. I remember when a huge storm hit London 21 years ago, it brought down thousands of trees.

Great take on the theme. Now I'm singing - "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot with a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot." and my personal favorite line: "They took all the trees and put 'em in a tree museum and they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them."
Ugh. I'm so sad about those trees. I bet those neighbors are not too thrilled, either. :o(
