This is the back of our church today, for a couple of years now if you were not almost 1/2 an hour early for church you could not easily find a place to park. Since three congregations use the same building we often overlap,so we are very much in need of more parking
It is sad to take down trees we have enjoyed for over 20 years but so necessary in this case
Remember this the aftermath of our washer malfunctioning :
I am so glad we are slowly but surely recouping from our whole house flooding in September
The aftermath of a lot of hard work and adjusting
Reflecting over a bunch of glasses

So sad and wish it weren't necessary -- and wouldn't be if people had better and extensive public transportation about to be able to call upon?
The roads will be less polluted given lots more take the public transport.
Happy Weekend Marcia :)
OH yes your area was hit hard by those storms....so sorry.....glad you are finally recovering from you losses...
It's so sad to cut down trees but sometimes it's really necessary to accommodate to the needs of the human populations.
Gosh! your floor still looked damp. I almost had that experience when there was an unexpected flash flood here.

It's always sad when they start tearing down trees but I guess it's necessary sometimes.
it cannot b helped but there is a still a tinge of sadness about it though
It's a shame they had to do that but storms don't spare trees, sadly. I remember when a huge storm hit London 21 years ago, it brought down thousands of trees.
Happy weekend
So sad but these are forces of nature that we have to deal with :(
Progress can be brutal on nature.
Great photos and I'm sorry about your flooding.
Here's mine.
It's good to hear, tho, about recovering and getting on with life...must be so hard and so difficult tho.
Mine's aftermath of after math. Come on over to see it if you have some time today.
Always sad to lose the green...but I'll take your word for it as being needed. Glad you're drying out...
It's the case of preservation versus progress or in this case, necessity.
Wow nice entries. Happy weekend. TC
Great take on the theme. Now I'm singing - "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot with a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot." and my personal favorite line: "They took all the trees and put 'em in a tree museum and they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them."
Ugh. I'm so sad about those trees. I bet those neighbors are not too thrilled, either. :o(
Like Carver, I'm hearing the Joni Mitchell song in my head too! Nice take on the theme. Thanks for visiting mine and have a great weekend.
Glad things are going better after being flooded.
Happy Weekend.
Is that the same church building I used to go to? Sorry about the house flood. Oh, and no the babysitting story on Bedelia's site didn't happen at your house, it was at the Brent's.
wow, that was a good take on this week's theme! That tile work is gorgeous! Thanks for visiting my hunt today!
Sad....but great photos for the theme...
My photo hunt entry is here
Thank you for stopping by! :)
The floors are a beautiful 'aftermath'.
Mine is not so useful!!
yep. so sad that the trees need to cut down for change. there roots protects us from floods.
Oh I wish they would build a new parking lot for us!!
Good photos for the theme Marcia. Your house is looking very good but it must have been awful.
Happy weekend.
line from Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchel?
Love the hardwood and leather furniture! We had hardwood and leather furniture once ... we left the hardwood in New York, and as for the leather furniture, well, we all know what happened to that, right, Dennis?
