My World Saginaw Texas - Concerts in the Park - something for everyone

visit more My world and a little Ruby
I added some text from the local free paper to my pictures
Willow Creek Park is a tranquil, 65-acre facility in Saginaw that contains a two-and-a-half mile jogging and bicycle path, numerous covered picnic sites, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts and several playground areas. Most evenings you’ll find people walking their dogs, kids flying their kites or playing with their friends — all unwinding after a busy day.

March 19 at Willow Creek Park in Saginaw. This concert was the first of the city's
Masterworks Free Concert Series.

the large crowd of people( about 200) gathered around the open pavilion They came to see the first Masterworks Free Concert Series staged by the city of Saginaw Recreation and Community Services Department.
All that jazz -- The Local HS Jazz band
"Jazz bands don’t have conductors," "They have band leaders. The band takes its style from the drums and its time from the bass player."

even with acoustic challenges at the park, the orchestra sounded like it was performing in a music hall.

"We were very excited to be able to invite the local high school band to come and play,".

"Saginaw Parks and Recreation, and the city of Saginaw, support our youth. They’re the future. To us, the kids are the stars,"

people came early to picnic meet up w/friends

let the dogs get some exercise

and make new doggie friends

it was such a pretty night and solidified in my mind what a nice place this is to live

Marcia: That looks like a great time for certain.
It is neat that you know my area of Ohio.

I have always wanted to go to something like this but have never had the right opportunity. Your first two photos are stunning.

Love the picture of the flower!

What a nice evening you had, Marcia ! In a so attractive place. Like a "taste" of holidays in a working week. Each of your pictures reveals a pleasant detail of this show.
What I found funny is to bring one's lawn chair. It reminds me Menton and its Classical Music Festival in summer. Last year we discovered there was a concert on a platform over the sea next to the beach. So we sat on the sand and listened. It was a delightful moment.

That concert sounds wonderful. I think it might even be worth the drive from Dallas.

I'm so ready for spring that I loved the picture of the flower.

Also the older people looking at everyone at the picnic. Reminds me of my g-parents that used to do the same thing!

What a lovely resource for your town. It sounds just the right size, too.

This is a beautiful place, and I liked the quote about "our children are the stars." Do you mind my asking about the second photo? It's so interesting, but I couldn't figure out what it was... I loved the last shot of the sky.
