What do you hunt for?

I found Joy cleaning out my Couch!

Fun Monday ***

Weekend snapshot

FlyLady says it is time to dive into your couch
and clean out the surprises you find there. I always hope for money or the mate to my favorite lost sock.

What I found today was a random Spanish word, a late night snack, a Christmas tag, a Halloween toy , extra parts to something.

So the message here is "pop" into your couch and you'll find 'Joy' but you may or may not want to stay 'buttoned' up about the 'skeleton' in your closet.(couch) :)

This was sooo awesome and sweet

found this new recipe
Apple Pork Chops Recipe
One pan meal. This is a delightful apple flavored pork chop recipe. I serve it with apple sauce and baked potatoes. I can't remember where I got the recipe, I've been making it for about 20 years.
by Kathy G.
30 min | 10 min prep
SERVES 6 -8
• 6-8 center-cut pork chops (on the bone)
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2-1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
• 1/2 cup apple juice (more if needed)
• salt & pepper
1. Rinse the pork chops, pat dry. Season with salt & pepper. Dredge the chops in the flour, shake off excess flour.
2. Heat oil in pan until hot but not smoking.
3. Add chops, brown well on each side, (1-2 minutes). Remove chops, place on brown paper to absorb excess oil. Return to pan.
Add onion and garlec to pan with the apple juice. Cover and steam chops for about 20 minutes or until done. You may add more juice if it starts to cook out.

Photo Hunt Utensils

visit more Photo Hunt Shots

I love that they are now making these colorful utensils! My daughter was admiring the ones we saw in the back to college section but they did not look strong. She cooks daily so When I found these strong cute ones at Ross I got some for her. I love the Smiling slotted spoon and how the reflection of my Florescent light gives it a curly eye brow:)

We will be singing the Children's song "the primary colors are 1,2,3, red, yellow, and blue" every time we use them:)

Oh to be a bird (Ruby Tuesday and my World)

Ruby Tuesday
my World
When I was a young girl I had to walk about a mile to school
each morning, home for lunch- back to school, and home again!!
This was in all sorts of Ohio weather

I would yearn to fly --the skill of a bird, to float high above the
ground and travel almost effortlessly the long distance
to school and back.......

drinking from sprinklers I could master, and did:)

but never could I chase an airplane

or even have a chat w/ a friend atop a lightpost.

Ahh the life of a bird!

This Weekend

I got to help serve

at the open house of this new building

with these nice ladies

and Sunday found out we have new ward boundaries and
heard Luke speak before he goes to England he did so well
I got hailed on on the way home but I do not see any damage
I so am grateful --but the clouds were gorgeous on the way
home after the rain

Peach Festival My WOrld

visit more My WOrld Posts and Ruby Tuesday

Saturday we went to wonderful
Weatherford for the Annual Peach Festival

It was the first time we actually went and it was necessary for us to
try some peach Cobbler

and homemade ice cream both of which were yummy

though it was not necessary for us to try the funnel cakes

or ribbon fries.... it was too hot ....so we didn't

but lots of folks did

they had many arts and crafts

she was only about 10 inches tall

a bounce village for the kids

a popular spot for the kiddos was in the splash zone of the dunking booth

they got cooled off as people dunked a bank loan officer dressed as Sponge Bob

We saw interesting people prepared for the 100 degree temps

I think these two dressed as bacon and eggs, carried the
water guns so they didn't fry on the pavement

this fellow looks unreal to me, He made balloon figures for kids.
How he didn't sweat the make up off? I do not know.

It was a fun festival

Weekend Girls night

What a full day! We went to a wonderful baptism, the Peach Festival , to my sisters, to my mom's, to a wedding reception and then after I got ready for today, I went to Holly's for a girls craft/scrap night. I painted for play and chatted.

some scrap booked

one sewed

one quilted

one made bows

some painted for fun

then we got silly

It was fun but too late:) Since I got there several hours
late I missed the takeout and esp missed visiting w/ everyone:(
because some were smart & went home at a healthy hour.
