Tonight at church RS we made Valentine Cards

It was fun and just nice visiting- the night was
put together by these two Thank you ladies

Oh and this is just a homemade pizza we made
the other night (we adjusted the recipe )and rolled the crust and put
half widths of String cheese in them and had
stuffed crust!! ground turkey sausage and low fat
cheese made it not quite as decadent as it looked
but it was really good.

Ingredients

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1T Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour, salt and oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker's peel dusted with cornmeal. Come see The new trails at Eagle Mountain State park

I could see we were going to have a beautiful day

I was excited to remember to wear my cute red and green hiking shoes

At the park entrance are some interesting photo spots( see previous posts)
have you ever had red lights on front like that? (must be turn signals)

I like the other shot of this horseshoe better in my previous post

can't miss the windmill and red water tower

We went to the left always in the past but there
were new trails to the right and so off we went

I do like my shoes:)

As we turned the first bend we saw this --on the other trail it was miles before a glimpse of the lake

and lovely barks

they have this old windmill mounted for veiwing

he lake is a sight to behold

these red berries by the lake are so fresh

the lichen shows us life

the hawks were making lazy circles in the sky

and you know you belong to the land

when the land you belong to is grand

oops sounds like I am singing about the wrong state but y'all know I

Dallas Theater Center

After Christmas we took our family out to Itallianni'sfor dinner

Artichoke dip (w/ red sundried tomatoes)

Red Strawberry salad

And my favorite dish there Angel hair w/ Spinach and pine nuts
(Love this restaurant for fresh Italian)

And then to see The DTC present A Christmas Carol
It was so well done I have never enjoyed another production in theater or on screen more
(and that includes Bass hall 2007 and Mickey Mouse)

the actors were magnificent

and a bit creepy ( What do we expect for Marley's Ghost)

The building was cool designed by Wright
(I took no great shots of the neat archetechture)

But I like this one of my son and his girlfriend

Earthquake

There was a 6.5 Earthquake in Eureka, California near where my son is on a mission. When I heard the news, from my Husband, (through a friend at church),I actually did not panic. I felt like all was well w/ him. I heard from Sister Bunker, the wife of the MP, today that all was well. I am so so grateful. I understand that in the entire area there were no injuries I am so glad.

photo hunt bulky

Trying to stay warm in our unusually cold 15 degrees

I have to wear many layers and it feels bulky.... we had heavy coats growing up in Ohio so we did not need 5-6 layers of clothes but here in TX we only need the warmth 5-6 days a year so we pile them on..

Yesterday was 6 layers today maybe 7 or 8:)

The Living Christ the Testimony of the Apostles

This is the Testimony of the Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints it is from 2000 and is Timeless.

I am awed by the beauty of the truths herein. I want to add my Testimony to it that I know that Jesus is our savior and redeemer and that He loves us and His Gospel is true. If you care to read this I would love to hear your feelings of the Savior.

"As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth.

He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3). Though sinless, He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow His example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come.

He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth.

We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.

He rose from the grave to “become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). As Risen Lord, He visited among those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His “other sheep” (John 10:16) in ancient America. In the modern world, He and His Father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith, ushering in the long-promised “dispensation of the fulness of times” (Ephesians 1:10).

Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote: “His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:

“I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father” (D&C 110:3–4).

Of Him the Prophet also declared: “And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

“For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—

“That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants the there of are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (D&C 76:22–24).

We declare in words of solemnity that His priesthood and His Church have been restored upon the earth—“built upon the foundation of … apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20).

We testify that He will someday return to earth. “And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together” (Isaiah 40:5). He will rule as King of Kings and reign as Lord of Lords, and every knee shall bend and every tongue shall speak in worship before Him. Each of us will stand to be judged of Him according to our works and the desires of our hearts.

We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son."

Lifted

Yesterday and today I was having post holiday blues. It was such a silly pity party-- feeling a bit lonely and missing the Christmases gone by.... ..... I knew I could not wallow in it... so I prayed, read some scriptures, chatted w/ a friend, and went for a an hour and a half walk.... -half by myself and when I felt my mood lift I called my patient hubby to join me.
I feel very uplifted and know that I need not ever feel that way. ... but... I am human and I am so grateful I have a patient husband, loving Heavenly Father who provides a communication system, wise words and a beautiful world to bring me joy:)
