I made R a birthday cheescake as per his request, as I was taking the outside band off the springform pan it slipped out of my hands and looked like this ....................

YIKES!!!
I was sooooooooo sad but R&B were so sweet they ate some off the floor and said it was so tasty, DH even put a candle in it . Good Sports all! We had Philly Cheesesteaks for dinner much like PW sandwiches


Luckily I hada frozen back up and we had a fun thingy for it too.

We are having a really nice visit........ I like these kids as well as loving them.

.They (The actors) socialize w/ us as the audience at the begining and the detective finds out things about everyone and uses them in the play, B got to be Christina a Pop singer and we were her cheese entourage.. So she was a suspect and we all got to add in and vote at the endfor who we thought did we also had a nice dinner during the show . The weather was perfect and tickets are 50.oo to start then online half price and then if you sre a Chambermember even less. I highly recommend this family suitable fun.

What a grand nephew

We went to JRS 1st birthday party(my great nephew) he was very happy. I don't think he even noticed the 65 or so people in his home were all there for him. Since it was raining a lot of the time--- It was a little bit tight . My neice did such a good job w/the party. I know she worked so hard on it.... he loved his cake and mom and dad liked the little bench we gave him, Z put it together for us.

But, the best gift came from B, she spent 7 weeks on this portrait of Jr

his mama was so tickled------ her excitment was the only thing that held up when my taking 6=7 pictures because of camera trouble. Dad and B were like ok we are done now.

FB Scrimmage

Z had his scrimmage for spring Football last week. He ran the ball a lot. He was really sore the next day, his knee and arm are bruised, but he looked good on the field, but my camera was crazy. He is fine now we hope for a good season in the Fall. I truly enjoy HS football does that make me more Texasy or Ohioan?

Apparently that it the # of pounds it takes for a 21 yr old to suvive 2 months in Europe.

S arrived early this AM in Madrid, Spain. He is safely in a hostel. I got to talk to him from the airport but I had been asleep so I do not remember any thing other than he sat next to a girl from the Canary Islands on the plane. I am so excited for him to be there in this Study Abroad immersion program But I will miss him and am a bit nervous about the two weeks of backpacking, hopping small planes etc he will do in July. He has been working double shifts every day to get enough money to go......... he was so tired ............ You can see B ,L, A&C in the background and of course my thumb.
He went to B's Grad w/ us . My neice Graduated this week but my camera wsn't working so I had to take pictures w/ my phone. She is so cute.

100 things about me for my 100th post

1. I am 48 years old but feel like I’m 35 or 65 depending on the day
2 I love tomatoes.
3 My Hubby is a gentle, smart, former FB player.
4 I love to exercise, not to start it, but the great feeling you get about 30 minutes into it .
5 I love to take pictures, close ups esp… food, candid people, and beautiful nature
6 My normal expression tends to be a smile and it drives some people mad.
7 I have 6 sisters and 3 brothers I grew up with , 4 step sisters I did not grow up with , 1 step and 1 half brother I did not , So we have 10+6=16 siblings
8 The misssionaries knockedon my families door when I was 6.
9 I like 100% cotton clothes best.
10 I prefer pajamas over nightgowns but it used to be the other way around.

11 I am a very loyal person and expect that from others so I am disappointed sometimes.
12 1 have 4 children 1 girl (19) and 3 boys(23,21,&17) and I have 1 daughter- in- law I love them all so very much .
13 I loved being room mom because I love doing children’s parties w/ games, parties w/ adults are just not the same.
14 I am too sensitive to what others think and feel.
15 I love to read.
16 I love going to book club and sharing insights that others see and some they do not see.
17 I ‘read’ about 4-8 books on tape a month.
18 I love Cold weather and prefer it over warm ( I think I might live in the wrong state)
19 I work P/T for CFK its A recycling company that is a fundraiser for schools
20 I drive too much for my job.
21 Nature restores me..... esp when I can spend a couple of hours w/o the rest of the world.
22 I almost never sweep the kitchen floor-- I try to get everybody else to do it.

24 I used to Run 10 miles a day in the mountains when I was in college. I tried to run in March and pulled a muscle that is still healing almost 3 month's later.
25 I have worked @ 5 Banks plus others as a bank temp.
26 I was a Substitute teacher for 3 years, mostly HS.
28 Pride & Prejudice is my all time fav movie. I also llke Return to Me and You’ve Got Mail
29 I enjoy Romantic Comedies and Mystery Movies.
30 Walking @ 6:00 AM is one of my favorite parts of the day.
31 Yoga keeps me moving and I can feel it when I skip class and get all stiff.
32 Hiking is my first choice for fun, esp hiking in the Mountains’ the air is so clean and fresh.
33 We all tanned as young girls we had a sun porch we baked on for hours at a time, (ugh I hope I don't get skin Cancer)
34 Salad would be my first choice for a meal.
35 Steak medium rare is my favorite meat.
36 Broiled Salmon my second favorite.
37 I almost drown in a lake when I was 8, I was unconscious, submerged, rescued and revived by my Aunt Marsha
38 I love to Swim.
39 I would like a pool in my back yard.
40 I was a lifeguard for a couple of summers.
41 I have had over 20 Jobs in my life, never been fired :).
42 I like to volunteer , I have done, PTA/PTO 17 years, FT Worth Nature Center, Special Olympics

45 My husband used to attend my SS class when we were in college @BYU and I felt so in awe of all the RM’s and their scripture knowledge , I used to ask him and his roommates for help w/ my lessons and that is partly how we got to know each other.
46 I enjoy teenagers and their outlook on life.
47 Some people make me cry to look at them… I almost feel their misfortunes.
48 I graduated from McKinley Senior HS in 1977. I did Drama,Choir, Student Council , class officer, and office asst.
49 I graduated from Ricks college in 1979 I loved my Field Biology and Canoeing classes.
50 I wish I had a Doctorate degree in English literature so I could be better read and wiser.
51 I love to grow Flowers from seeds .
52 I like animals, but I have more than a healthy fear of most of them including dogs and hamsters
53 I always cry at the hymns How Great Thou Art and I Stand All Amazed.

57 I used to never seem to have time to take baths, I usually showered, until our shower broke over a year ago and now I so prefer a bath over a shower.

59 I wonder why we have hair and are people who are bald disabled or is it just for looks

Happy Mothers Day to my Mom

This is My Mom at the Reception this Jan, w/ R & B.

This is 20 years ago in Wyoming My sister ,Mom, R, and me, I am preg w/B
This is My Mom as a toddler she was the 3rd of 5 children. She had eye surgery at this age and loved to sing and dance on stage.
This one always gets me, it is my Mom receiving Hank(my Stepdad's) military Flag at his graveside service 17 tears ago.

This may have been the first time she left the great state of Ohio.

They had a new baby every year or two and divorced after 20 years. They then both remarried and w/all the yours mine and ours we total 16 siblings.
My mom was a pretty 17 year old when she married my Dad

One of our first cozy couch pictures. Isn't the chubby baby on the right a cutie in her jammies, you may not recognize her:)but it is me. After 10 years of marriage there were 7 of us , the oldest about 9, and I was the youngest.

My mom has a great sense of humor. She is very generous if she has it, she will give it to you, but does not ever buy things for herself . She says we keep her well supplied so she has no need to. I think I got my love of the out doors from her, she and my step Dad liked to camp and fish. We had to memorize all the states and their capitols for fun, she taught us the love of good books, and the value of honesty. I also think I came by my Irish fiestiness quite natually. Happy Mothers Day Mom . I love you.

Mother's Day Story
The Ellen Show was on and she read this submission to a contest from a viewer:
So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on this mat in our bathroom.

Well, we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES IT. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done.

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up.
Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and the baby loaded in the car and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally round the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped". Now, if you have a cat, you know that he is right - their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind.

The only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth. And then I decided I really didn't want to know...

THAT is a favorite Mother's Day moment because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.

I was on TV

• Our HS had a threat, or rumured threat, it is still unclear which.
  
• 1. Z texted me to let me know. ....That some one wrote on the bathroom mirrors something about people dying on May 3rd. I wanted so badly to go get him, protect him. He did not want to come home, or even for me to bring him a bulletproof vest. Don't laugh, I seriously wanted to, and if I had one he would be wearing it.
  
• 2. So I calledthe public Information specialist at our school district. After 18 years of school age children, I try to go through the right channels before I panic . She assured me there was extra security and diligence on campus and that nothing had actually even been substaniated, but that they were still taking it very seriously.
  
• 3.So I prayed a lot and asked some others to also.
  
• When I went to P/U Z the FOX channel 4 NEWS was there. They stopped my car to ask if they could talk to me? I said yes, not thinking that...... I just got out of the shower, had wet hair and no makeup on, we went through it twice and I felt good about what I said. She asked what I did today when I heard? I told her 1,2,3, from above and she asked if the Virginia Tech shooting was on my mind?and how I felt? I told her yes, and It just made me want to hold my loved ones close and not have anything remotely like that happen. She told me I did very well. :) I do like to please.
• so ...... I was on TV last night!! I wish it were for something fun but............... life is not all fun.
  
• All they had me saying were the words in yellow, so.............. I feel like I did OK.............. but TV really does add lots of weight:(
  
• I am just so grateful I am not posting a post like I did the other day about a terrible tragedy.
• I am grateful prayers are heard and answered and I pray for those who are in pain, that they may be comforted and not take their pain out on others.
